Statement Of Faith

What We Believe

Prodigal Church

At Prodigal Church, we believe faith should be simple, honest, and rooted in truth. These core beliefs guide who we are and how we live.

God

God created everything and rules over it all.
He has always existed as one God in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1
Matthew 28:19

Jesus

Jesus is the Son of God, sent to rescue us.

He lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again three days later. He ascended to

heaven and will return one day.

John 3:16
1 Corinthians 15:3–4

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God with us and in us.

He teaches us, strengthens us, and transforms us to become more like Jesus.

John 14:26
Acts 1:8

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to us.

It reveals who God is, shows us His love, and teaches us how to live lives that honor Him.

2 Timothy 3:16
Psalm 119:105

People

Every person is made in the image of God.

We were created for good, but we have all sinned and fallen short. Even so, God deeply loves us and pursues us.

Genesis 1:27
Romans 3:23

Salvation

We cannot save ourselves — Jesus saves us.

Salvation is a gift of grace. When we believe in Jesus, turn from sin, and trust Him as Lord, we are forgiven and made new.

Ephesians 2:8
Romans 10:9

Eternal Life

We were made to live forever.

Those who trust in Jesus will spend eternity with Him. Those who reject Him remain separated from Him.

John 14:2–3
Matthew 25:46

Baptism

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change.

It publicly declares that we belong to Jesus — identifying with His death, burial, and resurrection.

Romans 6:4
Matthew 28:19

Marriage

Marriage is God’s design — a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman.

It reflects Christ’s love for His Church and is meant to be faithful, loving, and committed.

Genesis 2:24
Matthew 19:4–6
Ephesians 5:25
